Hi, my name is Michelle and I'm a blog-neglector.  It's been 22 days since my last post.  Oops.  Where exactly does the time go?  It's pretty safe to say that training has kicked up a notch in the last couple of weeks.  Even as I recovered from shingles, I managed to still get some quality training time in!  Kona is just 10.5 weeks away!!

So what's been going on?

- The girls just went back to school after their 5 week summer break!  We are in a year-round school so 5 weeks off summer/winter and 3 weeks off spring/fall.  Isabelle is starting 4th grade and Charlotte is in 1st.  We kept busy during the break - there was camp at our local gym which had them swimming and rock climbing and all sorts of other fun things......and they came home exhausted:)!!  Michael and the girls went to California too!  They visited Michael's mom in Arroyo Grande, went to the beach and spent a day at Disneyland - a great trip.  And, Isabelle went to her first Girl Scout Camp with her friend Lauren (who happens to be the daughter of my friend Anita)!  It was her first overnight camp and it was so cool to drop her off at the same camp that I went to as a young girl scout - Tomahawk Ranch.  Needless to say, she loved every single moment of camp and is still singing what must have been a ba-jillion songs she learned (the underwear song is a favorite!!).

Can you tell they are excited???  No tears at this drop-off - Isabelle couldn't wait for me to leave!

- In the midst of all the craziness, my baby Charlotte turned 6!!!!  I should probably stop calling her my baby.  Holy moly.....once again.  Where does the time go?  She had a small but FUN celebration/sleep over and decorated cupcakes and ate pizza.

Slumber party!!
- Shingles update!!!  Not all good news here as I went to the doctor today.  She has put me back on anti-virals for a few days since I still have lots of redness and raised bumps.  Also found out that I will more than likely scar (but it does kind of look like road rash so that's OK, I think it makes me look like a bad ass) and I need to watch my right side for any possible muscle weakness.  But it is a ba-jillion times better than it was 20+ days ago.  I am now in the itchy-scratchy stage which is just maddening at times and can make me rather unpleasant to be around:) And thanks for asking but no pictures have been taken and it will not be documented. Just sayin'.

- Training update will be posted soon!!  With the girlies back in school and coming into a recovery week, I should have some time to blather on and on.  To sum up??  There's been lots of bike riding.  Lots.  A bit of swimming.  A bit of running.  Did I mention lots of riding??
